Level 3 Winter Qualifier

Saturday 27 & Sunday 28 November 2021

Entries are now closed for our Level 3 Winter Qualifier.

We are delighted to be able to host our first meet since November 2019 and look forward to welcoming you all to our home pool – thank you for supporting our meet.

The meet has been licenced at Level 3 – 3SE210360 and will take place at Maidstone Leisure Centre, Mote Park, Maidstone, ME15 7RN.

Behind the scenes, we are working hard with the leisure centre operator to create a safe an environment as possible for everyone. Our objective has been to make the meet feel as “normal” as possible so that swimmers can perform at their best. We are hoping that the level of restrictions in place will be minimal, and that the operation of the event will be virtually normal, but we have to have a plan to cope with any restrictions imposed by the Government, Swim England or our leisure centre operator.

Please email if you require any further information.

COVID – Lateral Flow Testing, Sanitiser & Face Coverings

Whether or not you have been vaccinated, all attendees are requested to carry out a lateral flow test within 24 hours of the meet, unless previously exempt.

Please ensure that this result is registered at GOV.UK Report COVID Test Result

If your lateral flow test comes back positive we request that you inform your club, book a PCR test to confirm if you are infected & isolate as per Government rules.

If you have tested positive for COVID within the last 90 days, there is no need for you to carry out a lateral flow result for this meet. This is because the virus may still be present in your body even though you have recovered & are no longer infectious.

The use of hand sanitiser will be encouraged throughout the meet. Hand sanitiser will be available throughout the leisure centre main areas, poolside & on the spectator balcony.

The use of face coverings is encouraged for all those attending, if not previously exempt for medical reasons. Competitors need not wear face coverings when poolside.

Any swimmer who has recently recovered from COVID must have completed the required period of self-isolation & appropriate swimming training time to allow for a safe return to competition.

Reserve List

All rejected entries, where events are oversubscribed, will be kept on a reserve list. Clubs notified of rejection should make their members aware that they will automatically be entered onto this list. Swimmers on the reserve list who wish to swim must confirm by email to no later than 5.00pm on Friday 26 November.

The full programme will be accessible for download within 24 hours of the meet. No paper copies will be available.

Competitor Withdrawals

If you are having to pull out of our meet prior to the weekend, your withdrawal should be notified to no later than 5.00pm on Friday 26 November.

To minimise contact, clubs will be issued with withdrawal sheets which team managers or coaches must complete & return to the organisers by the start of the warm-up for each session.

There will be no ‘on the day’ entries for this event.

Start Lists & Results

Start lists will be made available just before the start of each session & results will be posted online after each event has been completed.

Technical Officials – Update 24.11.21

We’ve had a great response to our officials online sign-up.

The allocations for all sessions have now been published and sent to all officials involved. Please contact Colin Booth if you have any queries.

 Spectators – Update 25.11.21 (22:30)

Given the demand for tickets for some sessions, we increased the number of spectators in the balcony to 145 per session & only those who have purchased tickets in advance will be permitted entry to the spectator gallery. No standing will be allowed.

The entry fee will be £2.50 per session. Booking closes on Friday 26 November at 3.00pm.

Sessions 2, 3, 5 & 6 have limited availability.

There is good availability still for sessions 1 & 4 via the private link sent to clubs.

Parking is free, providing you register your car details on the machines inside the leisure centre if you are staying longer than 3 hours. Failure to do so will incur a fine.

Food & Drink

We have now received confirmation that the leisure centre café will be open over the weekend from 8.00am to 5.00pm. As well as serving hot and cold drinks, they will have a variety of pre-packaged sandwiches, salad pots, sausage rolls and snacks (crisps, flapjacks, muffins, cookies and ice-creams). They have also catered for those who are vegan.

Neil Stanley – Neil Stanley Images – is a sports photographer based in Kent. He will be with us throughout the meet capturing the swimmers in action. Following the meet you will be able to access and view these images in password protected galleries on his website.

Our own club photographer, Will Sereki, will also be with us over the weekend.

Participants and spectators are requested to follow the Swim England guidelines for photography and the use of photographs on social media. Your photography should focus on your family member(s) as much as possible and broadcasting images on social media platforms beyond your family group should be avoided. Flash photography is prohibited at all times.

You must register your intention to use an image-capturing device at the main leisure centre reception each day, where you will be provided with a distinctive wrist band.

Image capturing devices must not be used in the changing area at any time for the purpose of taking photos.

‘Hot Heat’ Prizes

Random ‘hot heats’ will be announced throughout the meet, where winners of that heat will receive a spot prize.

Mobile Shop

SwimPath will have a mobile shop for those who might like to buy some early Christmas presents.
