If you feel you could contribute in any way to the club, we would be very interested in hearing from you.
Please visit our Club Desk, or alternatively, please get in touch with Rachelle Allistone or any member of the Committee to have a chat to see how you might be able to help. The majority of those assisting are unpaid volunteers.
What can I do?
There are many positions that we need our volunteers to assist with.
Details of Committee roles can be found on the Club Documents & Policies web page, alternatively detailed below are some of the additional volunteering roles.
Officials - please see our Officials page for further information
Assistance with the running the AOE timing and results system for our Time Trials, Club Championships and Level 3 meet
|Non-Technical||Club Desk - Thursday and Friday evenings from 6.45-8.15pm|
Setting up of the timing pads and racing blocks for our Time Trials, Club Championships and Level 3 meet
Gala entrance and programme sales
Sign-in and registration
Marshalling and stewarding
How much can I do?
You can do as little or as much as you like. We are aware that everyone has busy lives and that time is precious, so you may be limited in what you can do. However, if everyone did a little it would make lighter work for all those involved.
Please note that Committee positions are elected annually at the Annual General Meeting or throughout the year as positions are vacated. Committee meetings are held monthly.
Will it cost me any money?
Volunteering need cost you nothing but your time. If you would like to take any teaching, coaching or official examinations the Club will reimburse you for the cost of the course (subject to approval).
Can I develop my skills?
We recognise that supporting our volunteers is essential, therefore we endeavour to develop individuals that are keen to progress by attending training courses or by being mentored to assist in this.
